Ok, i am not very familiar with SEO (search engine optimization) on websites so this comes from a noob. But it seem like there is such a thing call black hat SEO and white hat SEO. In layman terms, it simply means the right or wrong way of ranking your webpages on Google.

I got this information on Facebook (now, when did Facebook become a source of information for me) and it seems that there are some really unethical website design companies out there taking advantage of clients who are unfamiliar with the internet.  The report came from timmguru.com and it state that Active8, the web design company uses unscrupulous methods to pursuit their search engine ranking using keywords such as web design and content management system.

This is an excellent case study as it shows that people are no longer tolerant of any unethical practice by companies regardless of whether the victim is the author himself or someone else. If you read the orignal post, the post got itself 24 comments within the first day and rest assure that more comments will come since this story is now heavily ‘Retweet’ on Twitter.

unethical

So if you are still practising black hat seo on your client’s site, pray that no one discover it or your bad reputation will rank higher than your website.
