How Do You Define a Professional Blog

9 January 2009 114 views No Comment

What does it take for someone who knows how to use the computer to create a blog and profit form it? The answer is “Not much”.

There are 3 keys that you would need to have. The first and most important is the content. Then, you need to have a steady and thick traffic. Next, you must have quality products to offer.

When it comes to content, value the quality more than the quantity. It takes good content to keep visitors returning to your site. Whatever you are writing, make sure the content is interesting and informative as well. No one wants to read a 2 page article to find that he or she already knows is written; in other words, there is nothing new to learn. The content has to be least free from grammar and spelling errors. That shows your sincerity as well as your intellect. Your content has to be updated regularly, without a loss in quality. The success of your content-writing is measured by how much percentage of visitors return to read your content. Writing good content attracts new visitors, retain loyal ones, and will be spread by word of mouth to would-be visitors.

The next thing to look out of is traffic. Never be satisfied with a small but steady traffic. Since it is your business, it is your role to drive in traffic so that some of them would buy your stuff. Traffic building is not easy but it is not tough. The best way to drive traffic is through Search Engine Optimisation (SEO).

Basically, the purpose of SEO is to get your website on the first few pages of search engines like Google and Yahoo. To do this, brainstorm on keywords related to your field. Think of what consumers would type into search engines when they are looking for items in your field. Once you got the keywords down, create an informative text on your field, using as much of the keywords as possible, as many times as possible and post it on your sites. This increases the relevance of your site on the keywords. Then, submit your website to the search engines so that they know that it is there. Then, modify and lengthen the text into an essay and submit them to article submission sites. This will drive traffic as well as increase your page rank.

Last but not least, make sure that your products are of high quality and that costumers would want to buy them.
